Am I the A-hole for wanting my friends to always help me with problems?

My roommates and I have been living together for about six months. We've made a terrible agreement where we each take turns doing the dishes, but lately, it feels like I'm always the one putting in the work. Last week, my friend just didn't care to do their part. I got really annoyed because they just acted like it wasn't a big deal. I told them that it was rude, and they got defensive. Now, they're saying I'm making a big deal out of nothing. Am I really the asshole here?
